Scene Three Flowers
I had previously begun thinking about what flowers to use for this shot, but upon learning more about modeling flowers and making sure the look is what I want for the project, I am pivoting a bit.
I've begun gathering some more reference photos.
Reference Photos:
For the color palette of the scene I want:
a purple flower
yellow flower
white flower
and pink flower
Flowers I've chosen:
daisies, a few different colors
yarrow
fox glove
Before focusing on the field of flowers, I wanted to focus on the single flower that will be in the foreground of scene 3

For this flower, I wanted to use a daisy. This will also allow for the butterfly to land easily on the flower.
I used a KineFX setup that I previously used for a collaboration project to create this flower.
The petals are simulated with Houdini's vellum solver
Referencing macro photography of daisy centers, I used phyllotactic points to create the center of the flower.

Put together, here is the current look of the daisy:

With this scene in mind, I then also wanted to begin gathering the material for the butterfly that will land on the flower.
Using a rigged and animated model from CGTrader, I replaced the wings on the model with the same wing modeled used for the fairy wings.
