I unfortunately was absent the past two classes due to car issues and being stuck at home. Because of that, I feel behind on this project. I spent today doing the things I did know how to do such as track the camera. I took the file into Nuke, used the camera tracker node, exported that camera into Maya and lined it up with the still camera for reference in order to get it in the correct place in my Maya file.

Here is the camera track in Maya. From what I can see it seems to be sticking to the ground and looks better than the track I had in the last project which I am happy about.
I went ahead and continued setting up my Maya render layers as well, lining up a box with my box I will project.

I also began working in Houdini today on figuring out a particle system that I can use for the fireflies that will fly out of the box. I am using a pop curve force to get them to swirl up out of the box. I have a lot to figure out with these nodes in the nest few days.

Today, I'm beginning a new project for the quarter. Myself and a group of classmates went out and shot our clean plates for project 3 today. These are the plates I shot along with an mp4 pan of the scene. I went for a moodier and dramatic look as I plan to have fireflies sparkle out of the box and I felt this setting would fit best with that. I plan on using a particle system in Houdini to accomplish that. I know the corners of this box will be a little harder to get accurate because they are so reflective but I am up to the challenge.
Here is my mp4:
And my stills:
Here are the properties of the photos taken. The camera has a crop factor of 1.6 as well.
